HQ Conversation: Mira Kaddoura

Mira Kaddoura is an Interactive Artist and Creative Director.

In 2013, she founded a creative studio, Red&Co, that works in advertising, film, design and technology.

Red&Co just released it's first initiative called Made with Code with Google.

Made with Code was created because even though more aspects of our lives are powered by technology, women are not represented in the companies, labs, research, creative arts, design, organizations, and boardrooms that make technology happen. (Today, less than 1% of girls are getting CS degrees. That's not even 1 whole girl.)

The studio created 5 Learning Tools (Web apps) disguised as fun Coding Projects with 8 more coming soon, a brand film, 11 documentaries featuring role models from fields like animation to music, a mobile first website, among other few things.

Before that, Mira was at Wieden+Kennedy for 10 years where she created work like Nike Body Parts campaign, Nike I feel pretty, The Girl Effect and Travel Oregon. She tries as much as she can to create work that starts meaningful conversations around topics and causes she believes in.

Originally from Beirut, Lebanon, Mira has lived and worked in many places before ending up in Portland, OR. Mira thinks her husband, family, yoga and conceptual art projects keep her sane in this crazy world called advertising. If you meet her you'll find she has crazy hair that dances almost as crazily as she does.
